2025 Season: Exploring the Pacific Northwest from Victoria, BC through the Inside Passage and over to Haida Gwaii
This season is heavily focused on unique and seldom visited destinations in the Pacific Northwest. We begin in earnest in Victoria and explore Vancouver Island up to Port Hardy where we will offer scuba diving of God’s Pocket. From there, we cruise the inside passage to Prince Rupert and then have a long crossing over to Haida Gwaii.
-
This early season leg is a chance to pick up skills on a performance catamaran while cruising Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Gulf Islands and into Victoria. Weather and winds will be variable and more sailing this leg than others is expected given the pace. While this leg is a lot about repositioning to Victoria to kickoff the 2025 season, if you are in need of more sailing experience before the more demanding legs, this might be for you.
Cost: $3,900 per berth
Available berths: 6 -
Starting with a night on the town in Victoria on the 17th, we will begin by exploring the Gulf Islands before heading up to Chatterbox Falls. We will keep a brisk pace with a night or two in Desolation Sound before concluding in Port Hardy. Sails may not come out as much however we will focus on navigating extreme tides and currents as well as choosing appropriate anchorages. We will get lots of docking practices in as well.
Cost: $4900 per berth
Available berths: 6 -
Beginning the trip exploring Desolation Sound, we venture past the aptly named and challenging Cape Caution and into the inside passage proper. Leveraging weather, currents, and tides, we will make decisions on how much inside versus outside sailing we do and expect to see many whales, orcas, and other marine life. We end in the last fuel and provisioning stop before Prince Rupert: Bella Bella
Cost: $4900 per berth
Available berths: 6 -
This leg will focus on the inside passage (weather permitting, some open ocean time) and while time with sails up is limited, the pace will allow us to explore the inside passage with heavy currents, challenging anchorages, log watches and more.
Cost: $4956 per berth
Available berths: 6 -
This leg is unique in that there is both a long crossing as well as many cultural activities. We begin in Prince Rupert and prepare for a long crossing with watch rotations over to Haida Gwaii. Spending one (or more) nights in Welcome Harbor waiting for our weather window, we cross over to Dajing Geets and see the museum as well as attend the mandatory cultural orientation before proceeding south our first watchman station, Koona. As time allows, we will try our hand at fishing and crabbing for our dinner before proceeding to our second watchman station, Hot Springs. After, we return to Dajing Geets for a farewell dinner.
