Koru Expeditions
Our mission is to create unforgettable sailing expeditions that immerse you in hands-on experiences while fostering a deep appreciation for local cultures and the ocean.
At Koru Expeditions, we believe the journey is far more important than the destination. Founded by seasoned sailors Ken Parker and Renée Evans, our mission is to create unforgettable sailing expeditions that immerse you in hands-on experiences while fostering a deep connection with the ocean and the communities that depend on it.
Our fleet includes the 50' performance cruising catamaran, Koru, and the 32' monohull, Naia Grey, both equipped to take you on long-distance voyages that blend adventure, learning, and environmental stewardship. Whether you're seeking to sharpen your sailing skills, dive into the depths of the ocean, or simply embark on a unique journey, our expeditions are designed to be more than just trips – they are life-changing experiences.
Every voyage with us is guided by the belief that exploration should give back. Through hands-on instruction and environmentally conscious practices, we ensure that each expedition leaves a positive impact on the ocean and the coastal communities we visit. From learning the ropes to navigating the open sea, we offer practical, immersive training that sets us apart from the typical sailing school.
Join us at Koru Expeditions, where every journey is a step toward adventure, learning, and making a difference.
WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT:
Cultural Impact.
We will be provide you with recommended readings and information on the various cultural experiences your expedition will encounter.
When possible, at least one event will be scheduled to contribute in some way to the coastal communities we interact with. Sometimes it will be delivering needed but hard to find items. Other times, it will be understanding how to best respect the community and share that respect after you return home. Other times, it may involve learning some of the local language or
Environmental Contribution.
Prior to your arrival, we will share details on environmental issues specific to your leg. Often, we can get “hands-on” in our contributions, with the opportunity to volunteer. In addition, we may meet with a member of a high-impact organization to better educate ourselves.
Each expedition will be unique.
Giving back and paying forward.
